4 Things to Monitor on Your Vehicle

After buying your new car there are certain things you should pay attention to. Things that maybe right in front of you on the dash or maybe things you may need to search for through your menus.

-Some oil level gauges on new cars are digital and do not have a dipstick so you may have to go through a few buttons to find your levels. Checking your oil levels on a bi-weekly basis would be wise and the older the car the sooner I would check.

-The temp of this oil is also very important. Checking the oil temp is a daily thing for me, every time I get into my car I monitor my oil temp and see what it reaches after warming up. You usually do not want to push your car past 3-4 rpms until it has warmed up, This will add to the life of the engine.

-Checking your tire pressure is important for efficiency and proper driving conditions. This is also a digital gauge in the menu of your vehicle if not you’ll need an air gauge to test each tire individually. Opening the driver door there is a sticker on the opening liner with the PSI needed for the front and rear tires. Just add accordingly. If you’re in the California area and go to a gas station that is requesting you to pay for the air just go inside and ask the clerk to turn on the air. It is illegal to charge for air in CA.

-Last but not least check your mirrors.
